Warranty
IMPORTANT: Read this entire warranty before purchasing or installing this product. By installing or using this product you are acknowledging that this Limited Warranty is part of the terms of sale.
Insulated Wood Window Unit & Sash
Vision Products Industries, Ltd. (VPI) warrants, subject to the conditions and restrictions stated below, that the VPI wood window, when properly installed and maintained, will be free from manufacturing defects under normal conditions of ordinary wear, for one year. VPI will warrant swiggle seal insulated glass glazed into VPI wood windows for ten years from the date stamped on the glass. Under normal conditions, VPI warrants there will be no material obstruction of vision through the unit due to accumulation of dust, moisture, or film formation on the internal surface of the glass caused by failure of the units insulating edge seal due to defects in material or workmanship. This warranty specifically excludes defects or damage attributable to installation, normal weathering atmosphere pollutants, mildew buildup, misuse, abuse, glass breakage, installation into a sloped glazing application, refrigeration system, solar collector, swimming pool or spa enclosure, application subject to abnormal stresses and excessive temperature differentials, settlement of the building, failure of the structure, the Owners failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance of the product, earthquakes and/or other acts of God. Film covering may not be applied to the interior or exterior of the unit.
Any claim requires an inspection by an authorized agent of VPI. If it is determined that the claim is valid in accordance with the provisions of this warranty, VPI agrees at its option, to either refund the original selling price of the glazed sash or replace the glazed sash, as originally sold by VPI, without charge, to the shipping point nearest the point of purchase. The warranty on the replacement unit shall extend only for the balance of the warranty period applicable to the original unit. This warranty does not cover any charges for labor, installation, finishing or any other incidental costs related thereto of either the original or replacement product or any replacement part.
Disclaimer -
In no event shall the liability of VPI exceed the price paid for the product. Replacement products shall be a reasonably similar current product and may not exactly match the original. Even where VPI chooses to repair or replace product, the costs covered by this warranty do not include any labor or material costs associated with finishing space surrounding or adjacent to the repaired or replaced product including furnishing any trim or other carpentry work. Replacement product provided pursuant to this Limited Warranty shall be subject to the applicable VPI product Limited Warranty only for the remainder of the original warranty period on the product being replaced.
VPI is also not responsible for or makes no warranty as to:
- Product failure, loss or damage due to
- Normal wear and tear.
- Improper storage, handling, installation, finishing, use, modification, or maintenance.
- Installation inconsistent with VPI’S installation instructions.
- Altered or reinstalled products.
- Products used in non-vertical glazing applications.
- Combinations not built by VPI.
- Mechanical abrasion to finishes.
- Structural settlement or movement, vibrations, or excessive localized heat.
- High moisture environments (including pools, hot tubs, and greenhouses), or water leakage.
- Normal wear or discoloration of finish form product usage or age.
- Acts of God.
- Acid rain, or other corrosive elements.
- Inappropriate finished, solvents, brickwash, or cleaning chemicals.
- Accidents, including accidental glass breakage.
- Application of after-market window films to glass surfaces.
- Glass breakage, not the fault of VPI, which results in seal failure.
- High in-home humidity (condensation, frost, mold).
- Accident, misuse, abuse, alterations, improper handling, operation or cleaning.
- Conditions outside product design limitations.
- Improperly installed security systems.
- Products with modifications that are not approved by VPI.
- Ripping, tearing or other damage not the fault of VPI to window screens associated with wear and tear through product use.
- Insects, including grasshoppers.
- Cost or loss from
- Finishing or modifying the structure containing the repaired or replaced product.
- The purchases, damage, repair or replacement of non-VPI products.
- Products that have not been paid for in full.
- Installation inconsistent with VPI installation instructions.
