Robert Bowden, Inc. warrants that its garage door will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase, provided it is properly maintained and cared for under normal use and service.  The liability of Robert Bowden, Inc. shall be limited to replacing the garage door material or part found to be defective.

This warranty does not cover normal wood behaviors due to contraction and expansion of wood, such as checking, cracking, grain raise and leaking sap or pitch pockets.  These minor occurrences do not harm the stability or durability of the door, and are natural reactions of wood due to changes in humidity levels.

This warranty shall apply provided: door sections are finished on all surfaces (including top, bottom and side edges) with a high grade exterior stain or paint.  Do not use high gloss and/or lacquer based finishes for exterior use.  All painting and/or staining techniques must be in accordance with the paint manufactures recommended instructions for garage door applications.

Based on customer specifications, PVC may be used in the construction of the garage door.  Painting PVC a dark color will void the warranty.

The finish on the garage door will deteriorate over time and all wood items will move with seasonal conditions. It is the sole responsibility of the end user to inspect the condition of all exterior finishes every six months and refinish as often as needed to maintain the protective integrity of the finish.  No precautions can be taken at Robert Bowden, Inc. to prevent wood from rotting if proper finishing and care is not enlisted by the consumer.  If standard maintenance procedures are not followed, the performance of the garage door can be affected, and may void the warranty.
