Green building refers to a construction process that incorporates decisions that consider energy efficiency, environmental impact, and resource efficiency.   The practice of Green Building includes every step: design; site grading; construction; homeowner operation; and the overall impact of the home on the environment. 
Green building materials emphasize waste minimization, resource conservation, product durability, recycling, energy efficiency, geographic sourcing, fuel conservation, and environmentally sound manufacturing and harvesting practices.  Green Building ultimately strives to minimize the environmental impact of the building process.
